Through these efforts, she has educated thousands of professionals and helped expand access to evidence-informed, compassionate eating disorder care.
The Eating Disorder Education Institute represents the culmination of Dr. Oliver-Pyatt’s life’s work. EDEI was created to address a critical need within healthcare: rigorous, practical, and accessible education that prepares professionals to confidently recognize, assess, and respond to eating disorders. Unlike many educational programs that focus primarily on theory, EDEI is built upon decades of real-world clinical experience, treatment innovation, program development, leadership, and measurable outcomes.
Participants in EDEI learn from a leader who has spent more than twenty-five years treating eating disorders, founded five transformative treatment organizations, developed innovative models of care, trained and mentored professionals across disciplines, authored publications and educational resources, and helped shape the evolution of eating disorder treatment nationally and internationally.
Dr. Oliver-Pyatt founded the Eating Disorder Education Institute with a singular mission: to elevate the standard of eating disorder care by educating, certifying, and credentialing professionals who are committed to clinical excellence, compassion, accountability, and lifelong learning. By strengthening the knowledge, confidence, and skills of healthcare professionals, EDEI aims to improve outcomes, reduce suffering, and help more individuals and families experience lasting recovery.
